I can't believe I haven't updated my blog since last Christmas! It sure has been a busy year! I've had so many fun sessions with families and friends who continue to come back to me for their annual photos. I feel very blessed!
However, the time has come - at least for now - to take a bit of a hiatus from my 'formal' photography gigs because I was given my DREAM JOB with the non-profit organization, The Fresh Air Fund. I have been a host mom and volunteer for the past 5+ years, so my whole family has become very personally invested in the cause. To have an actual job with them is truly a dream come true.
That said, I have still been enjoying a few gigs that were pre-planned prior to my new position. In June, I had the opportunity to photograph a really neat couple from South Africa. They live in Princeton, NJ and decided to have a small gathering at the Sayre Mansion in Bethlehem, PA. I had photographed their engagement photos in 2013 and they liked them so much, they decided to hire me for the wedding!
About a dozen of their closest family and friends flew in from South Africa to witness their ceremony first-hand, while a couple 'FaceTimed' the ceremony and shared it with the rest of their family and friends across the globe! How cool is that?!
I had another great time at my friend Jen's sister's wedding, also in June.
And last month, I enjoyed my first DESTINATION wedding for a bride who heard of my work through a friend of mine. What I love about doing weddings is that I often build a friendship throughout the day that lasts for much longer! Meredith and Mike were SO much fun and despite a rainy afternoon, we had such a blast! That dance floor was hurting after their night on it!
Here are a few of my faves from that day ...
